Basic info

Foxes began to devote themselves to dressage on June 6, 2020. Given that almost none of us had any previous experience, our beginnings were quite rough. Since then, however, we have gained a lot of experience mainly thanks to competitions organized by Star Stable Dressage.

Welcome to our routine for Delayed Domination competition by SSD! It had to follow a theme of growing skill level and we wanted to take this routine a bit nostalgically. We was thinking about all SSD competitions we participated in and we wanted to return to every single routine we ever completed and look back to our journey. We took this routine as chilled as we could, because we just wanted to enjoy, what we have accomplished in such a short time.

We started our dressage journey last year with zero knowledge. Terrific Foxes were basic cz/sk hangout club with almost no rules and structure (but we loved it!). As we started to like dressage more and more, we began to pass our "knowledge" to Foxes. It started with Fantastic Fours, which was like a month after we found out about SSO dressage (please don't look up the video or placement, it was horrible. :D) We trained hard, even thought it wasn't always that easy. Since we're not just a dressage club, not everyone is interested in competition. And we're also kinda small club, because cz/sk community isn't sadly that big. But this year was amazing for us. We had so much fun, gained a lot of experience, placed amazingly. We can't be more proud of our journey. And we certainly hope, that it is not the end.

That is what our routine represents. Our not always easy, but surely amazing, journey.

Game of Illusion

The theme of our routine for the Game of Illusion competition is Alice in Wonderland. We love the magic atmosphere of this story, so we decided to bring the Wonderland to life via our dressage routine. We wanted to bring all the emotions of this story into our routine. The quiet and peace of this magic world in the beginning, Alice's fear and loneliness and careful meetings with Wonderland in the next, harmony, power, and Alice's necessary departure at the end. We wanted to capture the beauty of Alice's uniqueness and difference, because being "different" is not bad and it can give you a lot of strength. Do not be afraid to be just the way you are - unique and special, because this is what the world needs!

This competition was a big challenge for us, especially due to the minimum number of riders in the routine. Since we are kind of a small club, it was difficult for us to find eleven experienced riders for our routine. In the end, both club leaders were part of the competition team and one of them rode and commanded at the same time!

Two weeks before submission closing, we started to experiencing lags, which made competition recording way more difficult, as some of us did not see where the rest of the team was most of the time. Some of us were also slower than others or experienced larger screen delay than usually. Because of this it was almost impossible to complete the routine correctly (spacing and timing especially) for us.

But in the end, we think we dealt with all the problems more than well! Although it was one of the most complicated SSD competitions for us, we enjoyed the whole process of creating, training, and recording the routine.

Need For Speed

2nd place out of 49 teams

Rush. Such is the time now, we are all locked in a whirlwind of rush and have no time for anything. It is forbidden to stop, look around and breathe fresh air. Everything must be done now, preferably yesterday. People have become accustomed to the cycle of this rush and constant stress, it is not strange in their eyes. Even at this time, however, there are individuals who wake up and want to come out of this tight circle. The efforts of these individuals are persistent. They want to achieve their goal. Freedom. However, nothing is as we would like, and so their efforts become more and more useless. In the end, there is nothing left but to be put back in a hurried society. Like an ordinary soldier.

Phew! Our fourth routine ever for the first SSD competition of the year!

We enjoyed the whole process of creating the routine and training, despite all the complications we encountered this time. As club owners, we are proud of every single fox that took part in this routine, however, clearly the biggest appreciation belongs to Haslerka (Lucy Steelmoon), who have had an unexpected surgery during training time, so she had to make the recording using only one hand!

We also successfully dealt with game lags, which complicated the recording. Although we already see some mistakes (that we will try to avoid next time!), we think we put everything we could offer to this competition.

Triple Drizzle

October 2020

3rd place out of 27 teams

Team: Sara Middleworth, Lucy Steelmoon, Daisy Grayhill

Choreography: April Springforce, Chloe Slowstone

Our third routine ever. It was something different, but we had fun and it gave us even more experience to the future!

Topic for our Triple Drizzle competition is Totally Spies, which we loved as a kids. It's about unity and that being together brings more strength. It shows, that friendship is a strong bond and when it's interrupted it causes more damage.

Trainee Trials

October 2020
11th place out of 43 teams
Team: Daisy Grayhill, Lucy Steelmoon, Sara Middleworth, Judith Youngpaw, Stacy Ponyhall, Charlotte Zebrastar, Adreyena Flowerdown, Chloe Slowstone
Choreography: April Sprinforce, Chloe Slowstone

For the first time, we worked with a larger number of riders, which was a challenge for us not only with choreography, but also in terms of time. Getting together all at once was the most difficult part of the whole exercise.

Fantastic Fours

July 2020

25th place out of 29 teams

Team: Chloe Slowstone, Daisy Grayhill, Regina Batmoon, Adreyena Flowerdown (Sara Middleworth)

Choreography: April Springforce

The first competition overall. We did dressage for about a month and we still didn't have any idea what we are doing, so it was more of a fun competition. Even so, we gave a decent performance given the experience and time we had (14 days).
